"Am 1.07 wurde rausgeschickt."

My trip to Russia actually started months ago, when I decided I would go to IJK 2004 near Kovrov. I had thought about visiting Russia before, but the need of applying for a visa is generally a good enough reason for me to give up such ideas. A friend of mine wants me to visit China . Will it really be my next destination? The following might give you a hint…

So it all started very well considering that the different russian esperanto associations were taking care of the invitations, etc, and all I had to do was apparently to send my visa application together with a photograph, my passport and a few documents. Hum… yes… a few documents… As time went by, I seemed as incapable of gathering these as they were successful at getting new adjectives every week (which I find unneccessary to list here). The reasons for that are not interesting for the reader, but to make a long story short, let's say that in the end the situation was as follow:
_ Eventually, I had sent all the requested documents to the consulate
_ I had booked a flight from Berlin to Moscow on Tuesday 6 July
_ I had no feedback from the consulate whatsoever
_ It was Friday 2 July, I was about to be on leave for 4 weeks, not sure where I would spend my time, and not in the best mood of my life…

I had tried to contact the russian consulate for days, both by e-mail and telephone, without any success. I was ready to accept a negative answer, but at least I wanted to know what the heck was the situation with my visa.

It happened at 15:47 in the afternoon. I received this beautiful e-mail which I deliver to you unabridged for your enjoyment: “Am 1.07 wurde rausgeschickt.” But hey! It had been sent! Ouf!

Do bone.

Mi iom miris kaj do fotis gxin.

I was a bit upset to see that it was not possible to enter the red square. Damn!
Fortunately, as you will see later, things got better.

Elena fotas Ora-n. Cyril fotas sxin... kaj mi fotas ilin...

Well... if you miss this one, you'll see another. There are 7 of these things in Moscow !!
As a matter of fact there is also another exact copy of this building in Warsaw, and if my memory is good, I also saw an extremely similar one in Bucarest... Not sure that this beauty deserves such a treatment...

What else? Oh yeah, this... I did not buy...

Let's go see some more, follow me!
